Coconut oil is a magical product to add to your beauty routine! It may sound a little weird, but the truth is, that coconut oil ideal for so much more than cooking. It is a ‘does-it-all’ product that not only moisturizes from within when you cook with it, but it also has an endless list of amazing advantages when it comes to beauty on the outside. Who knows, you might throw away one or two of your expensive creams once you’ve read this article.

Ways to use coconut oil:

1. Hairmask

We all want that healthy looking hair, but after a long cold winter and the summer sun it is very unlikely that the condition of your hair live up to that wish. But don’t worry – Use coconut oil as a hair mask: apply it on the roots of your hair and work it as far up the lengths as your hair needs, put it in a ‘top knot’ and let it sit for at least 15 min. Wash it out afterwards with shampoo. It restores the missing moisture in your hair and after a couple of weeks (where you have used it at least once a week) you will feel and see the difference. Once your hair feels healthier, it is not necessary to do it as often.

2. Bye Bye Frizz

If your hair still feels frizzy when it is dry, take a small amount of coconut oil in the palm of your hands and squeeze it into the roots of your hair. It removes any frizzyness and makes your hair look healthy.

3. Body Oil

Moisturize your body to perfection with a little help from coconut oil! Apply a small amount all over your body right after you get out of the shower. If you want a different scent, you can add a drop of lavender oil or whatever smell that relaxes you.

4. Lip Balm

Dry and flakey lips is not a good look on any body. But the changing weather makes it impossible to avoid, BUT not if you use coconut oil as your lip balm. Massage into the lips and feel the soothing effect. To make it easier and more practical for yourself, take a small amount of oil into a small plastic container. That way you can have it with you at all times.

5. Curticle Oil

Like our hair, lips and skin, our cuticles needs daily moisture to look and feel good. Massage a bit of coconut oil on your cuticles before you go to bed, as it can feel a bit sticky if you use it during the day.

6. Highlighter

A word we love very much, and of course you can use coconut oil as highlighter. Add it on the top of your cheekbones before you apply your foundation/powder and straight away you will get a healthy and natural looking glow.

7. Makeup Remover

The oil gentle dissolves all types of makeup, even the most resistant waterproof mascara. Apply some oil on a cotton pad and use it as you would with your normal makeup remover. Wash your face after with tempered water to wash away any excess product. When you use it as a makeup remover you don’t just remove your makeup you also moisturize the skin at the same time. What’s not to love!

8. Body Scrub

There are a lot of expensive body scrubs on the market, but with a little bit of coconut oil and salt you don’t need to spend a fortune on a nourishing body scrub. Mix salt and coconut oil in the palm of you hands (while you are in the shower as it can get a little messy), massage it into your skin and rinse it off with water. The salt scrubs away any dull dead skin while the oil moisturizes. It the perfect combination.
